Keep the label value in view

A useful explanation starts with the actual quantity and its basis. Is that sugar value per 100g or per serving? Does the energy number use kilocalories or kilojoules? Scan the pack with Munchy and check the original values. Food labels commonly give per-100g or per-100ml information, with portions sometimes shown too; keep those bases separate.

What a food equivalent means

An apple illustration is a comparison of a specified nutrient quantity. It is a visual ruler, not a claim that the packaged food and an apple are nutritionally identical. Foods can differ in fibre, water, ingredients and other nutrients even when one quantity is similar. Munchy keeps the numerical value visible so the illustration has something concrete to explain.

Why exercise durations appear

An estimated activity duration offers another scale for a food's energy. It is a calculation using assumptions about activity and body weight, not a measurement of what you did or a prediction of how your body will change. The app explains its method. Actual energy expenditure varies, and eating a different snack does not remove the benefits of exercise.

Use the picture to ask a better question

Once a number feels tangible, compare a similar product or check the portion you intend to eat. You might discover a meaningful difference or decide that both options fit the occasion. Munchy's aim is a clearer decision, with playful visuals that help the information stick, rather than guilt about a single food.

Your questions, answered

Does an apple equivalent mean I should replace the product with apples?

No. It illustrates a nutrient quantity, not an equivalent food recommendation or complete nutritional comparison.

Are the exercise minutes a target I need to complete?

No. They are illustrative energy equivalents, not exercise prescriptions or calories measured during a workout.
