Compare foods you would actually choose between
A protein bar, yoghurt and a full meal serve different purposes. For a useful first comparison, choose two similar bars or two similar yoghurts. Check the nutrition table rather than compare the largest number printed on the front. Munchy helps you read available values and can show a category-based Battle; it does not build a sports nutrition programme.
Separate concentration from your portion
Per-100g values help you compare similar packs consistently. Then look at what you expect to eat: one bar might weigh more than another, or a yoghurt tub may contain more than a single suggested serving. Keep grams of food and grams of protein separate. A larger serving can change the total amount even when the per-100g numbers look similar.
Read beyond the protein number
Look across the available sugar, fat, saturated fat, salt and energy values as well as protein. Different products can involve different trade-offs, and a lower-energy product is not automatically the better choice for someone with substantial training needs. Munchy's grade is a general label-based measure, not a recommendation for muscle gain, recovery or a cutting phase.
Keep your training context
The Australian Institute of Sport recommends a food-first approach and considering training demands and overall nutrition when deciding about protein supplements. Use Munchy to understand packaged options; use qualified advice for individual sports nutrition needs. The app has no supplement contamination certification and does not assess banned-substance risk.

Your questions, answered
Does Munchy calculate my daily protein target?
No. Munchy reads and compares product information; it does not prescribe personal macro targets or training plans.
Can I use a grade to choose a sports supplement?
A general food grade cannot establish whether a supplement suits your training or meets sports safety requirements. Check the full label and seek relevant professional advice.
